HOW IT ALL WORKS, ALL THE DETAILS & ANSWERS TO MOST OF YOUR PARENTS’ QUESTIONS!

IDT (Intense Discipleship Training) is a six-week summer program designed to give you the opportunity to build real friendships, learn what it means to be a Christ follower, and put it all into practice in creative and life-changing ways.

Here’s how it works…every student who enrolls in the IDT program chooses a track to study. Tracks are meant to encourage the learning of basic Christian truths and disciplines while providing hands-on experiences to make those truths meaningful. Some tracks are designed to challenge specific age groups, so checkout the track descriptions on this website. Each of the tracks meet during every IDT session listed above. Students enrolled in IDT will have the opportunity to attend their track’s RD Week (RD stands for Resident Disciple).

What’s RD Week? RD Week is packed with tons of fun, hanging out, learning, and opportunities to put your faith to work! Some of the activities include: serving in the community, daytime sessions for your track, hanging out at the beach, and celebrating it all with a trip to Chicago’s Gino’s East for some deep dish pizza! More details on your schedule are provided in your IDT course materials that you receive on the first day of IDT. When your track’s RD Week arrives you’ll come, with your bags packed, to the Wednesday night IDT session…and then you’ll stay at the church until Saturday morning! Students should plan on staying for ALL of the RD Week activities as coming-and-going is not permitted. RD Week is optional, but it is only open to those students enrolled in that IDT Track. Every year students say RD Week is a highlight of the IDT experience…make plans to attend your track’s RD Week!

So, check out the descriptions of the tracks – and take note of the RD Week dates. You’ll want to choose a track that sounds interesting to you and has a corresponding RD Week that fits your summer schedule (you cannot attend another track’s RD Week). Tracks fill on a first-come, first-serve basis…so register early!
